Frog Hunting!

Nathan and Koën went from hunting... while I stayed in and fed the baby! The found some other hideous looking creatures, but I will just stick to the frogs. All FOUR of them! I have to say, they were pretty cute!

The boys came back completely covered in mosquito bites and dirt! I think I am glad I stayed home! I hate mosquitos!!!!

Emmett's Baby Shower

This afternoon Shannon, Grandma, Sue, Mathijsen and myself went to Hamilton for a baby shower for Katherine and Trevor's baby, Emmett. Baby Emmett slept through the ENTIRE shower! He's a growing boy and needs lots of rest!

Grandma definitely got her fair share of baby holding today! Here is a picture of her with Mathijsen! In the car on the way to and from Hamilton, he just stared at Grandma the entire time! When she would look over at him, he would give her the biggest, warmest smiles and coo! It was the cutest thing!

Like I said.... Emmett was just a slumbering little guy!!! Doesn't he look comfy in his Great Grandma's arms??!!

Brotherly Love

Koën runs away when I try to take his picture. I usually have to bribe him.
NOT TODAY!!!
We were hanging around the house and I asked "Hey Ko, do you think I can take a picture of you with your brother?", and he said yes and hopped on the couch!! Here are a few!

Koën has recently learned to ride his bike without training wheels! This video was taken the third time we went out to try. It's a slow process that we are still working on. After this video was taken, he took a spill (and was thankfully wearing a helmet!) and wouldn't ride his bike without the training wheels. So back on they went. We have them raised 2 inches off the ground on both sides, and Koën doesn't even realise that he is really riding without the use of them!

Hopefully next week they will come off again for good! Hopefully he will remember to pedal and not fall over!! I'll keep you posted!

The Baby

I thought I would add a video of the baby so Dad and Janet could "meet" him!

Walk Along the Grand River

Mom, Koën, Mathijsen and I went for a walk along the Grand River on Wednesday night. Here are some of the pictures I took of the little guy! He's so cute, I just want to SQUEEEEZE him!!

Sleepy Wrap!

As most of you know... I am mildly obsessed with the Sleepy Wrap. I recommend it to EVERYONE, and it is my new baby shower gift. Sorry... If I am coming to your baby shower any time soon... you now know what you're getting! haha!

If you aren't having a baby shower, and you have a baby and don't have one of these... I would get one!

I honestly haven't even used a stroller yet because I can just put Mathijsen in the Sleepy Wrap and go shopping and for walks. I take it with me everywhere I go and he is almost always asleep within minutes of being put into it. I can hold him hands free! It is amazing!

Would it be bad if I got another one in a different colour for the summer???

Screw the Housework....

I've decided that blogging is so much fun, that I will procrastinate some more! Afterall.... there really isn't that much housework to be done...
I thought I would post a few pictures....

Mathijsen Emile Baker ~
On March 25, 2009, this little man made the most efficient entrance to the world in just under 3 hours! He is a very happy, content, cuddly baby!

Mathijsen on his birthday! He was 4 hours old here:

Koën and Dante at Soccer ~

Koën and Dante played together during there first soccer season (4 seasons ago). They are on the same team again! Last weekend a boy pushed Koën for stealing the ball away from him. Dante got mad and tackled the kid! I wish I had a picture of it, but I was too busy enjoying the game without my camera! Last weekend, Koën scored 3 goals... 2 goals the week before!

Koën has started to learn to use a camera!
I know... scary that I let him use mine, but I am always a foot away from him, and the strap is always around his neck! The first time he tried, he would just point and shoot without really paying attention to what he was taking a picture of. Now he finds an object, focuses and takes the picture. Here are some of them:

The new blog!

So I've decided to start a blog...

It's not that I am bored and want ANOTHER internet communication device to check every day, I just want to be able to effectively let inquiring minds be able to feel more "in the loop". Namely, my Mom and Dad, who live in BC. Also, as you all know... I am a self-confessed Picture-aholic. And what better way to share my cherished moments with you all then a blog???

So I will start off with today's events! We had quite a productive day today! Koën was off to preschool today, and Nathan and I off to the gym with Mathijsen. We both had great workouts, which for me, is rare as I am just getting back into the swing of things at the gym and often feel defeated by the end of the workout. Thankfully, I have drill sergeant Nathan to keep me motivated!

We then decided that since it was such a beautiful day, we would have a picnic! After picking Koën up we went to the grocery store a variety of items and had a nice picnic on the quilt Dad and Janet got for Koën (thanks guys!). Nathan and Ko played soccer (what else??) and Mathijsen and I hung out under the tree. Some pictures from our day are below...

After dropping Nathan off at work the boys and I headed to Starbucks for a treat! Both boys are in bed, and here I am, procrastinating on housework to start this blog.

On that note... I better tend to my household chorse!

***Goodnight!!!***
